The RYA Coastal Skipper course provides you with the opportunity to develop your seamanship, boat handling and navigation skills offshore by day and night. It is a stepping stone towards the Yachtmaster Certificates of Competence.
You live on board for the week, with some nights spent at sea and other nights in harbour or at anchor, learning how to organise and operate a watch system.

Yachtmaster Coastal exam
You can follow this week with a practical assessment for the RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Certificate of Competence. Attending the RYA Coastal Skipper course reduces the sea time requirement for this exam from 800 to 400 miles.
Sail on to the Whitsunday islands
If you are working towards your Yachtmaster qualification you can book to sail on to Hamilton island to consolidate your skills and gain more sea miles and yachtmaster qualifying passages.
