Celebrate New Year’s Eve on Sydney Harbour aboard a fully skippered yacht, departing from the beautiful Middle Harbour Yacht Club.

Arrive at our modern marina with easy parking and excellent shore facilities, then step aboard for a relaxed welcome and short safety briefing before heading out on the water.

Sydney Harbour experience

We cruise out through Middle Harbour and into Sydney Harbour, taking in views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House as we make our way to a prime viewing position for the evening.

Rather than sailing continuously, we anchor in one of the best locations — typically Farm Cove or Athol Bay — so you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

The harbour comes alive on New Year’s Eve, with hundreds of boats on the water and an incredible buzz from every direction. It’s a unique experience and a fantastic way to be part of the celebrations.

Enjoy your own food and drinks on board as the evening builds, with time to relax, socialise, and take in the setting.

The night begins with the spectacular 9pm fireworks and aerial display.

Midnight fireworks

As midnight approaches, the excitement builds across the harbour. Then, as the clock strikes twelve, Sydney delivers one of the world’s great fireworks displays — an unforgettable experience from the water.

After the celebrations, we make a relaxed return to Middle Harbour Yacht Club.

Disembark is typically around 2:30am on New Year’s Day.

• How do I secure my booking?
  • To hold your place ahead of time, you may choose to pay a 20% holding deposit.
  • This deposit reserves your position and secures your yacht charter booking until 60 days before the start date, when the remaining balance is due.
  • The deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to another Flying Fish course or event with sufficient notice.
  • We recommend booking early, as our yachts book out quickly.
• Is this a private or shared charter?
  • This is a private charter for your group only — you will not be sharing the yacht with other guests.
• How many guests are on board?
  • The yacht is licensed for up to 10 guests, with a typical group size of around 8 guests for comfort.
• Where will we be positioned for the fireworks?
  • We aim to secure a prime viewing location such as Farm Cove or Athol Bay, subject to conditions and event restrictions.
