Description
Sailing on Sydney Harbour is a must-do experience—and this is the perfect way to try it.
Our Discover Yachting Day begins with a warm welcome and a short safety briefing at the yacht club. We then explain the essential parts of the yacht and the use of winches, halyards, and sheets.
Next, we head out into Middle Harbour for some gentle crew training before setting sail for Sydney Heads and a taste of the mighty Pacific Ocean.
You will learn how to hoist and trim the sails, sail across the wind, and helm the boat on different points of sail, tack, and gybe.
Relax as hard as you like
Relax as hard as you likeYou can join in, get active and learn basic sailing skills, or relax as hard as you like while our friendly, professional instructor shows you the ropes.
Lunch at anchor
Weather permitting, we usually enjoy lunch and maybe some swimming or snorkelling at anchor in one of Sydney's magnificent coves.
Then, we hoist sail again and head to Shark Island to view the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House and capture that essential photo moment.

Sundowners by the waterWe return to the yacht club in good time for a few light refreshments in the waterside bar.

- Life jackets and safety harnesses are provided, and we can loan you wet weather clothing if required.
- All vessels have an enclosed bathroom on board.

Before you start
- Discover Yachting is a great introductory sailing experience and a fantastic day out on Sydney Harbour.
- It's perfect for beginners but if you are an experienced sailor why not come along and refresh your skills.
