AS/ISAF Offshore Safety and Sea Survival Revalidation
This is a re-validation course for those who have completed the full two-day ISAF Offshore Safety and Sea Survival course but whose certificates will soon expire.
Description
The course meets the requirements of the World Sailing (ISAF) Special Regulations, appendix G, Part D - guidelines for an Offshore Personal Survival refresher course.
There is a practical session in a pool, where you refresh your knowledge of how to launch a life raft and practice in-water survival techniques.
Course schedule
- Liferaft and lifejacket practical pool session
- SAR organisation and methods
- Communications equipment (VHF, GMDSS, SATCOM)
- Exams
At the end of the course, participants will complete an assessment paper in the classroom o.

The course will be run by an Australian Sailing /ISAF accredited instructor.

Before you start
- You have already completed a full AS or RYA / ISAF Offshore Safety and Survival course but your certificate is about to expire or has recently expired.
- NB - if your certificate is out of date by more than 12 months you will need to complete the full two-day course again.
What next?
- You must re-validate this certificate every five years.
