Description

The course meets the requirements of the World Sailing (ISAF) Special Regulations, appendix G, Part D - guidelines for an Offshore Personal Survival refresher course.

There is a practical session in a pool, where you refresh your knowledge of how to launch a life raft and practice in-water survival techniques.

Course schedule

  • Liferaft and lifejacket practical pool session
  • SAR organisation and methods
  • Communications equipment (VHF, GMDSS, SATCOM)
  • Exams

At the end of the course, participants will complete an assessment paper in the classroom o.

Before you start

You have already completed a full AS or RYA / ISAF Offshore Safety and Survival course but your certificate is about to expire or has recently expired.

NB - if your certificate is out of date by more than 12 months you will need to complete the full two-day course again.

You must re-validate this certificate every five years.
