Our structured learn-to-sail courses in Sydney take you from your first time on the water to a confident, capable crew member.
Most beginners start with a Start Yachting Weekend or go straight into the RYA Competent Crew course, building practical skills quickly in a supportive, hands-on environment.
From there, you can progress to Day Skipper, develop your navigation knowledge with Essential Navigation and Seamanship, or explore racing and more advanced sailing skills.
Follow a clear pathway — or simply enjoy sailing at your own pace.
Once you’ve completed RYA Competent Crew, you’re ready to join a yacht club or charter crew and start sailing regularly
The next step on the RYA pathway is RYA Day Skipper, often considered the “charter skipper’s licence”. This allows you to apply for the International Certificate of Competence (ICC), often required to charter yachts in Europe.
As a qualified Day Skipper, you’ll be ready to take charge of a yacht with confidence in familiar waters by day.
